Photoshop CS4 Timesavers
In this presentation, Julieanne Kost describes some of the new timesaving features found in Adobe Photoshop CS4. Specifically, she talks about the new intelligent scaling, alignment, and auto-blending features found in Adobe Photoshop CS4.
Previous versions of Photoshop included the Photomerge tool that makes creating one image from a series of similar images (such as a panorama) incredibly easy to do. However, in Photoshop CS4, the Photomerge tool now includes corrections for geometric distortions and vignette removal. Blending between individual photos has also been improved and is virtually seamless. The new auto-blend tool can also merge multiple images with different focal points to create cool images shot at both near and far focus lengths. Julieanne walks you through these new features in this video and shows you the true power of Photoshop CS4′s intelligent alignment and blending technology.
Another amazing feature in Photoshop CS4 is the new content-aware intelligent scaling technology. If you’ve ever had to convert an image to fit a specified aspect ratio for something like a page layout, the new content aware scaling tool will save you tons of time. Instead of using free transform to distort or reduce an image size, CS4′s scaling tool will automatically recognize the important parts of an image and keep those parts of the image at the same scale. It will then scale the unimportant parts of the photo like the sky or background to make the image fit your new dimensions.
