Protect Your PC with the Best Antivirus Software
There’s another list out for the best antivirus software. This time, a list that helps in this downturn of an economy. LifeHacker recently compiled a list of the five best antivirus applications, sticking to only free or entry-level programs.
Avast! An all-inclusive and comprehensive protection program

Microsoft Security Essentials Providing real-time protection for your home PC that guards against virusrs, spyware and other malware

Avira Protects your computer against dangerous viruses, worms, Trojans and costly dialers.

ESET NOD32 Proactive antivirus and antispyware protection.

AVG Fast, effective security with protection against viruses and spyware.

There are also other lists out there, including one on how they all stacked up against 147,000 viruses. So, which ones truly are the best antivirus programs out there? I, personally, have used Kaspersky, Norton and Trend Micro, also dabbling a bit with Avast and AVG. Although I haven’t fallen in love with any particular program, a freeware favorite of mine is Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. Malwareybytes has certainly helped me resolve several issues in my love-hate relationship with technology. It’s simple, easy-to-use and seems to be constantly updated. The only downside to the freeware version is the need to do everything manually. But hey, it’s freeware! Do you have a favorite? A recommendation? We’re curious of the good and the bad.
