I have been mainly a hobbyist for several years, I have done numerous designs for websites and businesses. For me it is the enjoyment of it, it's something I love to do and the payout doesn't really matter. It's the satisfaction of someone loving your artwork enough to use it for their business or website.

we're curious! do you feel under-appreciated and exploited because of contests like these? where you don't get paid, but instead get gifted out? are contests like these demeaning to professional designers? or are they great opportunities for students and hobbyists?

why do you enter contests like these? is it the prize? the fun of it? the need for materials in your portfolio?

just wondering... we were recently hit with feedback on this contest that stunned us a bit so we would love to hear from everyone on this matter! please tell us your thoughts!
