AutoCAD Design Contest – Win FREE AutoCAD Software

That’s right, folks, SoftwareMedia is proud to host our CADers Spring Fling Design Contest. To celebrate the release of Autodesk’s AutoCAD LT 2012, we are calling upon CAD professionals from all over to create a unique and interesting design to be entered in our Spring Fling Design Contest. Show off your drafting and design skills and come up with a SoftwareMedia.com-themed project and wow your fellow CADers. Entries will be judged by our panel of AutoCAD experts, and the top 3 designs will win a FREE copy of AutoCAD LT 2012!

Designs are open to just about anything you can conjure up. If you want to design a new SoftwareMedia office building, great! Have a nice outdoor garden/rec area? Fantastic. Even an ancient Egyptian obelisk shaped into a giant “SND” would be an acceptable submission. The contest rules are pretty simple: designs must be SoftwareMedia in theme; designs must be your own original work; submit your designs in approved CAD formats; and, most importantly, be creative and have fun! Autodesk is at it again. They always have something great for us to promote, and they put out a world-class product. For a limited time, you can purchase AutoCAD LT 2011 and receive a free subscription. The subscription is typically a $195 value, and gives you some great benefits: get the next version free when it’s released; get free training materials; and complimentary tech support. If you had any intention of purchasing AutoCAD LT, this should be the just the nudge you needed. More like a push over the edge, really.

As of now, the AutoCAD LT 2012 release date is unknown, but typically their product releases fall during the spring. This offer is valid through April 1st, 2011 only. AutoCAD Freestyle is an awesome new release from Autodesk that brings commonly used tools and features from AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT, and packages them inside an easy to use, affordable CAD program. Right off the bat we noticed using AutoCAD Freestyle was an easier experience then using AutoCAD LT, creating and modifying objects is as easy as dragging and dropping. When modifying objects, all you have to do is select a point and drag it to your desired location. As you resize objects dimensions are displayed for more accurate drawings.
